Sixteen years later, the Divine Capital fell under the rule of the Wei Kingdom. Living under the alias Shen Yan, Li Zhu lived with Zhao Qian, Shi Heng and Su Wan. Colonel Meng of the Wei Kingdom marched his troops into the city, luring the people with the promise of relocating to the new capital to force them to demolish the Divine Dragon Sculpture and hunt down the former crown prince. Zhao Qian’s identity was exposed and he was persecuted. The Zhenwu Army rose in rebellion, yet the Jie seized the chance to invade the Divine Capital once again. Zhao Qian fought a desperate rear-guard battle, handed a fragment of the Imperial Seal and its key to Shen Yan, and ordered him to break through the siege and head for the Southern Qi. As Shen Yan fled on horseback, memories of the past and visions of a future national restoration converged, and he took up the hope of the Scorching Sun Empire.
